In a country like Cabo Verde, which consists entirely of islands, ferries are an indispensable means of transportation. Some islands can only be reached by boat because they have no official airport. If you take a ferry, you will definitely experience the landscape of Cabo Verde in a different way. Be aware that the boats travel over the rough ocean, so be prepared and take medication if you are prone to seasickness.
There are several shipping companies that have good ships to get to the different islands. But only a limited number of ferries run regularly and on time. Always check the schedule, because it can change quickly and sometimes it is canceled. For this reason, you should take the ferry only if you want to go to a neighboring island and there is no flight connection possible.
